On-Line Image Generators

Remember fractals? Jeff Goldblum introduced the movie-going public to "chaos theory" in the first Jurassic Park movie. Chaos theory relates to fractals in the sense that mathematicians believed fractals could be used as a way to predict complex and seemingly 'random' events.

OK, enough math stuff.

You don't need to know anything about math to create fractal art. There are fractal generators that make things super simple. There's not only fractal art but there's fractal music, fractal animation, and the list goes on. Above is a fractal called 'Elementals' by Cory Enoch.

If you want to play around with fractals you can follow this link. Be patient while the image loads...

Enjoy.

  3. No, I didn't create this image. I have some on my home laptop, which died a slow death on Monday.

  4. The fractal image (called a Mandelbrot fractal) looks like an ink spot. It doesn't show up instantly, and if your computer is on the slow side, you'll probably run out of patience and close out before it appears.

Google Mandelbrot and you'll get some other links.

  5. This image reminds me of the Chihuly exhibit.

    I like math, too!
